After a break up and then the death of two very close family members I got rid of my TV and replaced it with a 1940's upright piano. A friend gave me a Mac and I decided to write/record on it. In three weeks I completed 12 songs that focused on allowing the music to naturally capture my life’s surroundings, resulting in my latest album, The Death of St. Thomas. It's a lo-fi record that was recorded/mixed by me on 9 planes, 2 CTA trains, 1 NJ train, 1 NYC Train, 5 CTA buses, 6 cities, 6 states, 5 airports, 3 bars,1 basement, 1 beach, 1 Garage, 1 restaurant, 7 apts, a Zoo, and not 1 studio..
released October 1, 2009
All tracks written, engineered, produced, mixed, mastered by Tom Schraeder except for 'Patbaby (An Ode To)' and 'Josie' which were produced and engineered by Jesse Woods. 'Death of a Carnival' and 'Last Man of Riverview' were co-written with Dan Moulder.
