The Film Scorer It's an uncomfortable onslaught, a constant rumble of sound that occasionally bursts to even harsher extremes, whose calmer moments are more akin to the erratic trauma of a Chinese water torture. Favorite track: Why Call The Light? (Original Song).

about

Singer/songwriter and composer Tom Schraeder is excited to announce the release of the original motion picture soundtrack for Bryan Bertino's (The Strangers) latest film, "The Dark and The Wicked."

With two original songs and 32 harrowing score tracks, the full soundtrack features performances by legendary Grammy nominated musicians and many notable Chicago indie musicians.

The soundtrack debut coincides with the premiere of the film nationally in theaters and video on-demand, which critics are calling "a haunting masterpiece" and one of the most terrifying films of 2020.

In Variety's rave review of the film, writer Maggie Lee highlighted the score specifically, saying "Tom Schraeder’s low-key mournful score has just the right dose of uncanny, but his finest work is the closing theme song “Darkness Stalls” — an evocative country folksong with a Gothic streak which he composed and sung himself.”
